[Saba Sports News] Adidas has been rolling out new models and updated designs for athletes like Anthony Edwards and Damian Lillard, but retro releases are rare. However, there’s always room for a legend like Kobe Bryant. Adidas is dropping another Lakers-themed colorway of the iconic Crazy 8.
Originally launched in 1997 as the KB8, Kobe’s first signature Adidas sneaker was rebranded after he left for Nike, eventually becoming the “Crazy 8.” Despite the name change, it’s still linked to Bryant and remains a beloved retro silhouette.
Following the release of the “Away” colorway, Adidas is now unveiling a “Home” version, inspired by the Lakers’ home uniforms. Set for release on October 1, 2024, the Crazy 8 “Lakers” features a white base with purple and gold accents, including a purple Adidas tongue tab, yellow ankle straps, and black detailing on the outsole. The signature “Crazy 8” logo can be found near the toe.
The shoes will retail for $160 and will be available at Adidas and select retailers. Don’t miss your chance to grab this classic piece of sneaker history.
