[Saba Sports News] In Canal+’s documentary “Born Winner,” French F1 driver Pierre Gasly shared a story about Jos Verstappen severely reprimanding his son Max Verstappen after a go-kart race. Gasly recounted that during a go-kart race in Spain, he won the championship while Max finished second. After the race, when they returned to the camp, Max’s father lost control of his emotions. He first yelled in Dutch and then hurled some unrepeatable insults in English at Max that were very harsh. He even threw Max’s helmet at him in anger. Gasly admitted that Max was clearly under pressure at that moment. After entering F1, Max faced immense pressure from race to race, which is why he sometimes uses foul language on team radios and in interviews. Some fans noted that although Jos Verstappen’s harsh training methods are controversial, it is undeniable that these experiences have made Max ruthless on the track, leaving no opportunities for his opponents and ultimately winning three consecutive F1 World Championships.
