[Saba Sports News] Zach Edey is taking us back to 1987 with a viral media day photo. The Memphis Grizzlies rookie, who stands at 7’4″, posed alongside 5’8″ teammate Yuki Kawamura, using a few basketballs to highlight their height difference.
The picture is a nod to the iconic 1987 media day shot of 7’7″ Manute Bol and 5’3″ Muggsy Bogues from their time with the Washington Bullets. Bogues even gave his approval on X.
While Edey and Kawamura’s height gap is a bit smaller—just 1’8″—both should bring big energy to Memphis. Kawamura impressed at the FIBA World Cup, showing he’s a baller in his own right.
