[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, Barcelona will finalize a new sponsorship agreement with Nike in the coming days. The report states that the agreement will be completed in October, with Nike continuing as Barcelona’s jersey sponsor for the next ten years. The terms of the agreement have largely been agreed upon, with only some details remaining regarding how the club will allocate the funds. Over the next ten years, Nike will pay Barcelona €140 million each season, which is just an estimated figure from the sponsor. However, the specific amount of “signing bonus” and how much will be paid each season are yet to be determined. It is reported that Barcelona wants an immediate signing bonus of €150 million and then €125 million each season; both parties are still finalizing the specifics of the contract. Notably, the signing bonus is very important for Barcelona as they need this money to increase revenue to offset last season’s loss of €91 million. Additionally, under the new contract with Nike, Barcelona will be able to comply with La Liga’s 1:1 rule when registering players.
