[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, Barcelona will receive over €6 million in compensation from FIFA due to Gavi’s injury. Gavi was injured while playing for Spain in November 2023 and has been sidelined since then. He is now close to returning and is expected to be back in the squad for the match against Sevilla after the international break. Reports state that as Gavi returns to play after being out for 335 days, Barcelona will receive financial compensation. As part of the club protection program, FIFA will pay Barcelona over €6 million. Gavi has been injured for 28 days since December 16, 2023, and FIFA began calculating compensation from that point, with the amount exceeding €6 million based on this calculation. However, it is important to note that as of June 30, 2024, compensation for Gavi’s 226 days of injury has already been settled at €4.6 million and has been reflected in the club’s accounts for the previous financial year. The remaining €1.6 million will be settled at an appropriate time starting from July 1 and will be reflected in the accounts for the 2024-25 financial year.
