[Saba Sports News] Michael Jordan may not have reached NBA glory as an owner, but he’s getting close in NASCAR.
On Sunday, 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick clinched his first NASCAR Cup Series win at Homestead-Miami Speedway, securing his spot in the Championship 4. Jordan, thrilled with the dramatic victory, exclaimed, “Yeah, baby! Yeah! Good job, kid.”
Reddick, starting from pole, was third entering the final lap but passed co-owner Denny Hamlin in Turn 1 and overtook Ryan Blaney at the final corner. Jordan praised the gutsy performance, saying, “Little kid drove his a** off. I’m proud of him.”
Reflecting on the thrilling lap, Jordan added, “He just went for it, and I’m glad. We needed it.”
With this win, Reddick earned a spot in the NASCAR Championship Race, joining Joey Logano. Even if he doesn’t take the top spot in Phoenix, he’s already made Jordan a winner by securing the regular-season championship back in September.
Since Jordan and Hamlin launched 23XI Racing in 2020, the team has quickly found success, and Jordan hopes the victories continue.
