[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, the kidnapping and extortion case involving French player Paul Pogba is set to go to trial soon. His brother Matthias Pogba and five other defendants will be tried in Paris at the end of November for an extortion amounting to €13 million. This incident occurred in March 2022 when Pogba was visiting friends in the suburbs of Paris while training with the French national team and was kidnapped by a group of armed masked men. The kidnappers demanded €13 million as “protection money,” leading to him being held for several hours and experiencing fear. Subsequently, Pogba attempted to transfer €11 million but was unsuccessful due to bank security measures. Reports indicate that the trial for Paul Pogba’s kidnapping and extortion case will take place from November 26 to December 3 at the Paris Criminal Court, where six defendants, including his brother Matthias Pogba, will be summoned. Matthias Pogba is charged along with five childhood friends with attempted extortion and criminal gang charges but not with the more serious charge of armed kidnapping.
