[Saba Sports News] Former Premier League star Benjamin Mendy recently updated his social media with the news that he has successfully claimed unpaid wages from Manchester City. The club will compensate Mendy for over £11 million in salary for 16 months and 23 days. It is reported that after Mendy was embroiled in a sexual scandal, Manchester City suspended him, believing he could not work normally during his bail and trial period. As a result, the club stopped paying him wages from September 2021 until the end of his contract in June 2023. Mendy was acquitted last year and subsequently filed a claim against Manchester City for unpaid wages. After several days of debate, he won the dispute and will receive most of the withheld salary. Manchester City will compensate him for over £11 million for 16 months and 23 days of unpaid wages. In the summer of 2017, Manchester City paid €57.5 million to sign Mendy from Monaco, which was a significant fee at the time, reflecting the club’s high regard for him. However, Mendy’s performance at City did not meet expectations, as he only made 50 appearances for the team.
