[Saba Sports News] Chet Holmgren needed assistance off the court after a rough fall during Sunday’s game against the Golden State Warriors at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
The Thunder big man collided with Andrew Wiggins while attempting to contest a drive midway through the first quarter, hitting the floor hard and clutching his right hip in pain.
Holmgren was carried to the locker room by teammates but gave the crowd a reassuring thumbs-up on his way out, though he couldn’t put any weight on his right side.
He was ruled out of the game at halftime, finishing with four rebounds and no points. The Thunder, already thin at center with Isaiah Hartenstein sidelined by a hand injury, may need to rely on small-ball lineups if Holmgren misses extended time.
Holmgren has been having a breakout season, averaging 18.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks through nine games.
