[Saba Sports News] According to CBS Sports data, Tottenham Hotspur has become the third most profitable sports club globally, trailing only NFL teams the New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys. CBS Sports assessed the operating income of clubs over the past three years based on Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA), with Tottenham ranking third at £324.3 million, ahead of the New York Knicks (£304 million) and Manchester United (£303 million). Another Premier League club on the list is Manchester City, ranked tenth (£229 million). The successful management team led by Daniel Levy has been key to Tottenham’s success in this area. Five years ago, Tottenham moved from White Hart Lane to their new stadium with a capacity of 62,850, a decision that has started to yield financial returns. Since the move, Tottenham’s revenue has significantly increased, making them one of the most financially stable clubs in Europe, with matchday income growing by 118% from £42 million to £118 million between 2014 and 2023, the largest increase among Premier League clubs. Tottenham undertook a major project costing approximately £1.2 billion for their new stadium while interest rates and capital costs were low, while clubs like Manchester United may need to build or renovate their stadiums at higher costs in the future.
