[Saba Sports News] Nate Robinson thinks Jake Paul’s win over Mike Tyson has finally taken some heat off him.
On Friday night, Paul defeated the legendary Tyson by unanimous decision in their much-hyped heavyweight bout, improving his professional boxing record to 11-1.
While the fight underwhelmed fans and drew poor reviews, it left the former NBA guard Robinson feeling a bit vindicated.
“Y’all gotta leave me alone now #PaulTyson,” Robinson wrote on X.
Robinson, a three-time NBA Dunk Contest champion, was Paul’s second-ever opponent in the ring, suffering an infamous knockout loss in 2020.
With Paul now holding a win over Tyson—arguably the greatest boxer of all time—Robinson joked that his own defeat doesn’t look so bad anymore.
Of course, Robinson’s post comes with a heavy dose of humor. Tyson, at 58 years old, managed to go eight rounds with Paul without getting knocked down—a stark contrast to Robinson, who was laid out by Paul in Round 2 of their fight.
While Robinson, who had no prior boxing experience and faced a major size disadvantage, probably shouldn’t have stepped into the ring in the first place, the outcome of Paul vs. Tyson does little to rewrite his own boxing misstep.
