[Saba Sports News] Multiple media outlets have reported that Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas may serve as the reserve driver for the Mercedes F1 Team next season and act as racing advisor to team CEO Toto Wolff. One reason is that the Mercedes-AMG team will begin collaborating with LMGT3 Iron Lynx starting in 2025 and participate in the World Endurance Championship in 2026. The Mercedes team hopes to restart Bottas’s racing career in the 2026 season. In this regard, Wolff, while in Las Vegas, did not hide his interest in having Bottas rejoin the Mercedes team in an interview with Viaplay. Wolff stated that Bottas’s deal is being handled by lawyers, and it is just a matter of time, but nothing has been signed yet, and nothing is ready. If they can bring Bottas back into the team’s family, everyone would be very happy. Records show that Bottas served in the Mercedes F1 Team from 2017 to 2021, during which he won 10 Grand Prix races.
