[Saba Sports News] According to French media, a man in Toulouse, France, asked his robbery victim if they knew Kylian Mbappe to put the victim at ease before committing the crime. On Thursday, a 26-year-old man appeared in Toulouse’s criminal court wearing a French national team jersey, as he is a fan of Mbappe. He was arrested on October 11 for his involvement in eight theft cases between August and September this year. Of Algerian nationality, he now faces the risk of being forcibly expelled from France. He used the same tactic to attack victims on the street or in the metro, including a 75-year-old woman. The man would approach victims and ask, “Is this Mbappe?” or “Do you know Mbappe?” to lower their guard before sweeping their legs and knocking them down to steal their jewelry, especially necklaces. He managed to steal eight gold necklaces in this manner. Ultimately, he was sentenced to three years in prison and will have to compensate the victims with amounts ranging from 500 to 1600 euros to cover their losses.
