[Saba Sports News] The Korean Badminton Association held a recognition ceremony for the 2024 Paris Olympics on November 30. During the meeting, the association awarded bonuses to Olympic medalists, but gold medalist An Se-young refused to attend and instead went to watch a basketball game, causing embarrassment for the association. After winning the Olympic championship, An revealed that she had been bullied by senior players for a long time, highlighting her conflicts with the Korean Badminton Association and even threatening to withdraw from the national team. Although the situation ultimately resolved in her favor, her relationship with the association deteriorated. During the recognition ceremony, as the association’s president Kim Taek Soo was present and personally awarded a check of 100 million KRW to the recipients, An found it difficult to accept. Consequently, on the day of the ceremony, she went to the gym to watch a Korean women’s professional basketball game and intentionally got caught on live television to express her dissatisfaction with the Korean Badminton Association. In the end, the check for 100 million KRW was collected on behalf of An by the head coach of her club, Samsung.
