“It’s great to watch Gibson play,” Richards said. I grew up watching Gibson play, and actually now I get to see him in person and watch him play, which is something that I really enjoy while I’m out injured.” Richards’ words were a tribute to Gibson’s career, which, despite not playing in the game, has made a positive impact in the locker room and off the field.
Richards had a strong game, Posting 12 points, six rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks, though the Hornets couldn’t turn the game around. Gibson has played 11 games this season, averaging 2.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 11.4 minutes per game, and as a veteran, he still plays an important role in the team.
