[Saba Sports News] Steve Kerr’s experience at the Golden State Warriors’ Wednesday showdown with the Houston Rockets was nothing short of unsettling.
The Rockets hosted the Warriors at Toyota Center in Houston for an NBA Cup matchup to determine which team would advance to the semifinals in Las Vegas.
Staying true to the NBA Cup’s tradition of vibrant court designs, the Rockets’ court was painted a striking bright red. To amplify the effect, every seat in the arena was draped with a red shirt, creating a fiery, almost menacing atmosphere.
For Kerr, the scene was downright infernal. Reflecting on the empty arena before tip-off, he humorously likened the experience to a descent into the underworld.
“I told one of the coaches it felt like I was descending into the depths of hell,” Kerr quipped. “The deep red hue on the floor—it’s a little disconcerting. I thought I had been better in my life. I didn’t think I deserved that fate.”
Creating a hostile environment for opponents is every home team’s goal, and judging by Kerr’s reaction, the Rockets nailed it on Wednesday night.
