[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Arsenal has launched an investigation into a series of anti-Semitic social media posts that appeared to come from an employee of the club. Mark Bonik, an equipment manager at Arsenal’s youth academy, has had multiple exchanges with some members of the Jewish community on a social media account named after him. Reports indicate that on December 4, in response to someone, a post included “particularly offensive” statements, claiming, “Hamas proposed releasing all hostages in October. Israeli Zionists refused. Victim mentality.” The account has since been deleted, but exchanges posted over the past two to three weeks have been re-shared by another account on the platform. A post from December 7 stated, “Why should they be protected while other communities are not? Some believe this is a Jewish community issue, thinking they should take precedence over others.” The discussion included mentions of Israel’s “Jewish supremacy” and “ethnic cleansing.” The club has reportedly received complaints from at least one Arsenal fan group.
