[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Brazilian star Robinho’s application for parole has been rejected, and he will spend this Christmas in a prison in Brazil, unable to see his wife and three children. Robinho was sentenced to nine years in prison for rape committed in Italy and has been serving his sentence since March of this year. Reports indicate that the Brazilian prison administration stated in a release that Robinho is serving his time in a closed prison and is not eligible for parole, as this is a benefit granted to inmates serving in semi-open facilities. Furthermore, the prison holding Robinho confirmed that no special activities are planned during Christmas and New Year, as they believe the conditions provided are already better than those in other prisons in Sao Paulo state. It is reported that Robinho still has a net worth of approximately £60 million and is learning skills in appliance repair while occasionally playing football in prison. That said, Robinho deserves his fate, and it is hoped that he can truly reform while incarcerated.
