[Saba Sports News] Draymond Green didn’t win over many fans Wednesday night with his theatrical flop during the Golden State Warriors’ clash against the Los Angeles Lakers.
In the fourth quarter of the Christmas Day matchup at Crypto.com Arena, the Warriors trailed 88-79. As Jonathan Kuminga sank a free throw to trim the deficit, Green was called for a loose ball foul.
The Warriors veteran was incensed, arguing that Lakers forwards Dalton Knecht and Rui Hachimura had fouled him instead.
However, replays told a different story. Green appeared to hook both players before dramatically flopping in a way that seemed more suited to WWE than the NBA. The performance quickly became meme fodder on social media, with fans roasting Green for his antics.
Despite contributing 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 blocks, Green had an off night offensively, scoring just three points on 1-of-6 shooting. His struggles proved costly as the Warriors narrowly lost 115-113.
A few extra points from Green might have turned the tide, but his exaggerated flop became the standout moment for all the wrong reasons. Fans were left shaking their heads at a play that did more harm than good for the Warriors.
