[Saba Sports News] According to the latest reports from Portuguese media, former Portugal international Ruben Semedo was recently arrested by local police for domestic violence against his girlfriend. It is reported that the police received a call from the girlfriend, who claimed she had been held at home by Semedo for several hours. When the police arrived, they found her with multiple visible bruises, and she was taken to the hospital for treatment. Semedo was subsequently arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. Notably, Semedo has a history of negative incidents; he was previously arrested in Spain in 2018 for attempted murder, assault, threats, illegal possession of weapons, and robbery, and was arrested in Greece in 2021 and 2022 on charges of rape and domestic violence. Such incidents damage the image of the sports community. Sports have always been viewed as a positive, healthy, and energetic field, while domestic violence contradicts the values promoted by sports.
