[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, England star Jesse Lingard’s streetwear brand has accumulated nearly £300,000 in debt and has applied for voluntary liquidation. Reports indicate that Lingard has shut down his brand JLingz, with the latest accounts submitted to the Companies House showing the brand’s debt at £276,883. Since its establishment six and a half years ago, the brand has been operating at a loss. Shortly before representing the England national team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Lingard applied for a trademark covering clothing, footwear, headgear, and his JL logo goal celebration. The first batch of JLingz products was launched that year, but Lingard faced criticism for launching a brand instead of focusing on football. Currently playing for Seoul FC in the K League, Lingard has made a total of 26 appearances in his first season, starting 23 of those matches, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists. Ultimately, Seoul FC finished 4th in the K League, securing a spot in next year’s AFC Champions League playoffs. At Seoul FC, Lingard’s annual salary is approximately 1.82 billion Korean won (around $1.25 million), making it the highest salary in the entire K League.
