[Saba Sports News] F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali recently provided insights during a media interview regarding Cadillac’s entry into F1 in 2026. He revealed significant details about Cadillac’s joining F1. Initially, it was Andretti Global that applied to join F1, and their request was recognized by the FIA, but it did not sway the F1 management. The heads of the F1 operating organization previously stated they did not believe Andretti’s name would add any value to the series. Subsequently, General Motors stepped in, proposing to use the Cadillac brand to reapply to F1. After substantial investments, technical preparations, and further discussions and negotiations with the FIA and F1 management, Cadillac ultimately succeeded in their application and received permission to compete.
