[Saba Sports News] LeBron James sent fans into a frenzy on Tuesday night, showcasing his jaw-dropping athleticism at age 40 during a nationally televised game.
The Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Early in the first quarter, with the Lakers trailing 9-5, James seemed content to play a facilitator role, making four passes during a single possession.
Two of those passes set up Rui Hachimura for corner three-point attempts, both of which missed. After two offensive rebounds by the Lakers, James decided to take over.
Charging down the lane, James received a pass from Max Christie and unleashed a stunning windmill dunk, switching hands mid-air from right to left. The highlight-reel finish left the home crowd cheering in disbelief and sent the Lakers bench into a frenzy. It also marked James’ first points of the game.
The dunk wasn’t just for flair. With 7-foot shot-blocker Dereck Lively defending the rim, James needed to go to his left hand to complete the move. Few players in the NBA could pull off such a dunk, and even fewer could do it at 40 years old.
LeBron’s incredible play was a reminder of why he’s still one of the most electrifying athletes in the game, defying both gravity and age.
