[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Manchester United does not plan to appoint a new sports director for the time being, and technical director Jason Wilcox will take on more responsibilities. The club’s new sports director Dan Ashworth recently left, having only been with the club for about six months. James Ratcliffe has already tasked CEO Omar Berrada with assembling a new executive team, and the plans are currently being implemented. There have been internal discussions at Manchester United about bringing in external talent to replace Ashworth, but the new appointee will not hold the title of sports director as Ashworth did. As of now, Manchester United has not decided to appoint anyone new. Instead, technical director Jason Wilcox will continue to take on more responsibilities and work closely with Berrada, overseeing the club’s daily operations. The two will form a three-person leadership team with INEOS sports director Dave Brailsford to manage the club’s football operations. Meanwhile, Christopher Vivell, who joined Manchester United last summer as a temporary recruitment director, is negotiating with the club for a permanent position, and the club is optimistic about finalizing this agreement in the coming weeks.
