[Saba Sports News] Former president of the Korea Badminton Association Kim Taek Soo has appealed to the court regarding the “ban on candidacy” measures, citing procedural flaws. Yesterday, the civil division of the Seoul Eastern District Court granted Kim’s appeal, which will indefinitely postpone the election date for the Korea Badminton Association president. The court found significant procedural flaws in the election committee’s decision to disallow Kim’s candidacy. Additionally, the court ordered the withdrawal of the decision to not allow Kim to run and provisionally recognized his candidacy. However, the court did not accept Kim’s argument that “the election process cannot continue without excluding him.” In response, the Korea Badminton Association stated that it will re-establish the election committee, which will reassess the original proposal. It is reported that the association’s election management regulations state that members of political parties cannot serve as committee members. Kim questioned the original election committee due to the inclusion of certain political party members, with three out of seven committee members confirmed to be party members. Kim’s side claimed that the current composition of the election committee is illegal and that all election procedures are invalid.
