[Saba Sports News] Recently, Manchester City officially announced that they have signed Erling Haaland to a contract until 2034. The 24-year-old player is one of the best forwards in world football, having joined the club from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022 and performed excellently in his first two and a half seasons. In his first season at the Etihad Stadium, the Norwegian international was one of the key catalysts for Manchester City’s historic treble win in the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League. The forward scored an incredible 52 goals in all competitions, the highest in Premier League history, and set a record with 36 league goals, also winning the Premier League Golden Boot. He has also received several prestigious individual honors, including the PFA Player of the Year award, Premier League Player of the Year award, and Young Player of the Year award, and was named Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year. Reports suggest that the Norwegian will become the first Premier League player to earn over £500,000 per week, along with additional bonuses and image rights. This new contract lasts for nine and a half years and includes a release clause that will not take effect until halfway through the contract. This means Haaland’s new annual salary will exceed £26 million, with the total value of the contract exceeding £250 million.
