[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Tottenham Hotspur players were awakened at 2 AM by fireworks set off by Hoffenheim fans. In this round of the UEFA Europa League, Tottenham was away to challenge Hoffenheim. Reports indicate that Hoffenheim fans gathered outside the hotel where Tottenham players were staying at 2 AM local time to set off fireworks, intending to wake them up. It is said that the noise from the fireworks lasted about five minutes, waking many members of the Tottenham traveling squad. Sources reveal that such actions to disturb opponents’ sleep have become increasingly common before European matches. On match day, Pedro Porro assisted James Maddison for an early goal in the first half, while Son Heung-min scored another. In the second half, Andrej Kramaric hit the crossbar with a header, and Anton Stach scored to pull one back, but Son Heung-min scored again to make it 3-1, with David Mokwa scoring another goal to narrow the gap. Ultimately, Tottenham defeated Hoffenheim 3-2, ending their winless streak of three matches in the Europa League. It seems that all the efforts made by Hoffenheim fans ultimately proved to be in vain.
