[Saba Sports News] At the recently concluded Indonesia Badminton Open, Indonesian badminton star Mohammad Ahsan played his farewell retirement match. With his family and the Indonesian Badminton Association cheering, Ahsan addressed the audience on stage, tearfully expressing gratitude: “Thank you to my family and coaches for making me a better player. Thank you to all badminton fans—you are the best! Please continue to support the Indonesian team.” Ahsan rose to fame early in his career, achieving numerous international honors with his partner, including a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and championships at various Super Series events. In 2015, they also won gold at the Asian Badminton Championships, becoming a classic duo in Indonesian badminton. Post-retirement, Ahsan plans to focus on youth training and promoting badminton, aiming to inspire young players and contribute to the sport’s growth.
