[Saba Sports News] Franchise players are getting traded left and right, but it doesn’t look like Devin Booker will be joining that trend anytime soon.
On Friday’s episode of The Hoop Collective on ESPN, Brian Windhorst provided a key update on Booker’s future amid the uncertainty surrounding the Phoenix Suns.
According to Windhorst, Booker has no plans to leave and hopes to stay with the Suns for life. “Devin Booker, that I know, wants to be a Phoenix Sun for his whole career,” he said.
Booker, 28, has been with Phoenix since being drafted in 2015, earning four All-Star selections and two All-NBA nods along the way. He helped turn the Suns from a 19-win team in 2018-19 into a 64-win powerhouse with an NBA Finals appearance in 2021.
But despite having the league’s highest payroll, the Suns are just treading water at 25-25, and their Big Three of Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal is looking less and less like a true championship formula.
Booker has stayed loyal through years of roster shakeups, coaching changes, and even an ownership switch. While he doesn’t have a no-trade clause to completely guarantee his future in Phoenix, it’s far more likely that another piece of the Suns’ Big Three is on the move this offseason instead.
