[Saba Sports News] The latest injury update on Anthony Davis is only adding to the frustration of Dallas Mavericks fans still reeling from the Luka Dončić trade.
Davis made his Mavericks debut on Saturday against the Houston Rockets but exited early after suffering a non-contact injury.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Davis has been diagnosed with a left adductor strain and is expected to miss “multiple weeks.” Before his departure, the nine-time All-Star was putting on a dominant performance, racking up 26 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks in Dallas’ 116-107 win.
Injuries have plagued Davis for much of his career—he has played more than 70 games in just three of his 12 NBA seasons. Unfortunately for the Mavericks, his injury troubles have followed him to Dallas.
Davis was well aware of the backlash surrounding the team’s decision to trade Dončić and had even made a promise to Mavericks fans to help ease the sting of the move. Instead, his early injury has only made things worse.
