[Saba Sports News] From April 27 to May 4, the 19th Sudirman Cup World Badminton Mixed Team Championship will be held at the Xiamen Phoenix Sports Center. Yesterday, the highly anticipated emblem, mascot, and slogan were officially announced. Since the call for submissions was released on June 13 last year, the event organizers received nearly a thousand entries, and citizen voting was initiated in authoritative media on August 15, 2024. After several rounds of expert evaluations and selections by the event organizers, the final emblem, mascot, and slogan were confirmed. The slogan for this competition is “Show the Egret’s Feather, Gather the World,” with the English version being “Xiamen, Where Badminton Dreams Take Flight.” The overall shape of the emblem resembles an upward-facing badminton shuttlecock, with a composition reflecting the structure of “mountain-city-sea,” illustrating Xiamen’s urban layout of “city amidst mountains and sea,” and integrating the developmental concept of “mountains, sea, and people coexisting.” Additionally, the gradient wings showcase the dynamic and light athletic posture of badminton. The emblem’s color scheme features a blue-green palette with a green inner ring, bright yellow in the middle, and a blue outer layer, giving a fresh and refined feeling. The mascot for this tournament is named “A Meng,” derived from the Min Nan pronunciation of “Xiamen,” carrying a rich local cultural flavor. Fans have expressed that “A Meng” is not only a mascot but also a vivid messenger of Xiamen’s culture, bringing ancient dialects to life in the new era and conveying Xiamen’s local customs and unique charm.
