[Saba Sports News] Recently, Adidas and UEFA announced the match ball for the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League for the 2024-25 season. The design is inspired by Munich, which is also the host city for this season’s Champions League final. The ball is named “Adidas Pro Ball Munich” and will be used for the remaining matches of this season’s Champions League. The ball features white UEFA Champions League pentagons, combined with green and copper hexagons to form the surface. Green and copper are commonly used colors in local Munich architecture. Among the hexagons are many small patterns paying tribute to Munich and Bavaria, including the Alps, the Bavarian lion, edelweiss, Waldhausen, the English Garden, and the local major crop—hops. Various revolutionary and innovative technologies empower this ball, enhancing its grip and stability during aerial play. The bio-based content of the raw materials used in this ball is higher than previous Champions League balls, utilizing significant amounts of corn fiber, sugarcane, and other bio-based materials without compromising performance, thus making it more environmentally friendly. Additionally, 1% of the global net sales from the “Adidas Pro Ball Munich” will be used for support programs for disadvantaged groups and social reform initiatives.
