[Saba Sports News] Ferrari is the most successful team in F1, with 15 drivers’ championships and 16 constructors’ championships. Outside of F1, Ferrari also participates in many racing series. It is common for reserve drivers at Ferrari to participate in other races while fulfilling their F1 duties. For example, former Alfa Romeo driver Antonio Giovinazzi has been representing Ferrari in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) since 2023. According to Italian media Autosprint, Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur hopes that Zhou Guanyu will regularly participate in WEC races starting in 2025 to maintain his racing form. It is reported that Vasseur has been discussing with Antonello Coletta, the head of Ferrari’s endurance racing program, how to involve Zhou Guanyu in this series. Unfortunately, “financial issues” led to the failure of this plan. This means Zhou Guanyu will be fully committed to his role as a reserve driver in F1 in 2025.
