[Saba Sports News] On February 17, as the mixed team championships for badminton concluded across five continents, the final list of the 16 teams for the 2025 Sudirman Cup World Mixed Team Championship was officially announced. From the list of participants, the Chinese team, as the host and defending champion, has already secured qualification. Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand qualified as the top four teams in the Asian Championships; South Korea qualified due to having the highest ranking in Asia (excluding China); Denmark, France, Germany, and England qualified as the top four teams in the European Championships; Canada, Australia, and Algeria qualified as champions of other continental team championships. Malaysia, Chinese Taipei, India, and Hong Kong qualified due to their high world team rankings. However, the Sudirman Cup will not begin until April 27, so this lineup may change, as in past tournaments, some teams may withdraw for various reasons, including funding issues. According to the organizing committee, the draw for the group stage of this year’s Sudirman Cup will be held on March 15.
