On Sunday, the NBA shared a video of James making the rounds in the All-Star locker room at Chase Center in San Francisco, greeting his fellow stars.
Fans quickly noticed that while James exchanged warm embraces with players like Jayson Tatum, Kyrie Irving, Nikola Jokić, Karl-Anthony Towns, Tyler Herro, Victor Wembanyama, and Steph Curry, his interaction with Brown stood out—it was brief and notably lacked a hug.
Why the possible cold shoulder? Last July, Brown made headlines for a viral critique of LeBron’s son, Bronny. Though Brown later attempted to clarify and praise the James family’s accomplishments, the comments had already sparked debate.
Judging by Sunday’s interaction, the issue may still be fresh in LeBron’s mind. That said, things could have been much more awkward.
