[Saba Sports News] Since British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos Group acquired shares in Manchester United and became a club shareholder, the group has made significant changes, including layoffs and cutting resource spending. Recent media reports suggest that Ineos is seeking to terminate its multi-million pound annual sponsorship agreement with Tottenham Hotspur, and Sir Ratcliffe plans to significantly reduce investments in sports. In 2022, Ineos and Spurs entered into a five-year agreement to promote the company’s 4×4 Grenadier off-road vehicle. The company’s logo could be seen on player benches and digital advertising boards during matches. This all occurred amid Manchester United’s financial struggles, as Ineos acquired a 27.7% stake in the club a year ago, now holding 28.94%. Currently, Manchester United has laid off hundreds of employees, with the club facing losses amounting to hundreds of millions of pounds.
