[Saba Sports News] In this round of the Premier League, Manchester City will host Liverpool, with Omar Marmoush and Mohamed Salah also set to feature in the “Cairo Derby.” According to British media, local estimates suggest that over 100 million Egyptians will watch the live broadcast of this match, approaching 95% of the nation’s population. Salah hails from a rural area in northern Cairo, where he had to take five buses daily, spending nine hours commuting to participate in training, only to return home at 10:30 PM. This season, he has contributed 24 goals and 15 assists for Liverpool in the Premier League; Marmoush, on the other hand, comes from the affluent Maadi area in southern Cairo. His father is a telecommunications executive, and he attended an American international school with a tuition fee of $24,000 a year. After transferring to Manchester City for €75 million during the winter transfer window, he scored a hat-trick against Newcastle last week. The traffic on Manchester City’s Egyptian official website has surged eightfold due to Marmoush, with social media followers increasing by over 25%. His number 24 jersey sales have reached the top five within the team. Previously, the streets of Egypt were filled with Salah’s Liverpool red jerseys, but recently, Manchester City’s light blue kits have started to appear as well. It is reported that Salah is viewed as a people’s hero in Egypt due to his background, and his support remains significantly higher than that of Marmoush. In fact, Marmoush also considers Salah his idol and “big brother.”
