[Saba Sports News] According to the latest news from South Korean media, current president of the Korean Badminton Association Kim Dong-moon is being sued by former president Kim Jeol-gyu, claiming there was unfairness in the election process. Kim Jeol-gyu demands that Kim Dong-moon be suspended from his position. It is reported that Kim Jeol-gyu stated, “The committee’s decision is extremely unfair to me because the other three candidates started their campaigns since the 9th of this month while I was denied equal opportunities.” In other words, he believes that the electoral management committee took unfavorable measures against him during the election process, leading to his defeat. Currently, the lawsuit is ongoing without a final verdict. This legal dispute has put the Korean Badminton Association in a difficult position. In my opinion, such disputes may negatively impact the image and reputation of the Korean Badminton Association. As a globally recognized badminton association, the Korean Badminton Association should strive to maintain its professionalism and fairness to ensure its standing and influence in the international badminton community.
