[Saba Sports News] A heated altercation broke out during Sunday night’s game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs, leading to three ejections.
The incident occurred in the third quarter at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, when Oklahoma City’s Kenrich Williams was guarding San Antonio’s Julian Champagnie. Williams took an apparent accidental elbow to the face but reacted aggressively, immediately going after Champagnie. The scuffle quickly escalated as Jeremy Sohan and Lu Dort jumped into the fray.
As a result, both Champagnie and Williams were ejected, while Dort also received an ejection. Sohan, however, was only assessed a technical foul.
Before his ejection, Williams had not scored, while Dort had 9 points. Sohan finished with 17, and Champagnie added 8.
Jalen Williams led the Thunder with a dominant 41-point performance. Speaking to ESPN after the game, he reflected on the incident:
“It made us refocus,” Williams said. “Figure out what’s important. I thought that kind of amped up our focus on defense.”
The Thunder ultimately secured a 146-132 victory, improving their record to 48-11.
