The seven-time F1 world champion expressed dissatisfaction, feeling that the media had overanalyzed his comments, while Verstappen’s conversations with his engineer were even worse but received less attention. During the F1 Australian Grand Prix, Hamilton politely yet directly asked Adami, “Let me handle it myself, don’t repeat the instructions too much.” Although this exchange was amplified by the media, Hamilton emphasized before the F1 Chinese Grand Prix that there were no conflicts between him and Adami; both sides are adapting to each other. Furthermore, Hamilton criticized the media’s double standards, arguing that Verstappen’s intense exchanges with Red Bull engineer Gianpiero Lambiase did not receive equal scrutiny, pointing out that over the years, Verstappen has said many harsh things to his engineer, but the media never reported them, while his minor discussions with his engineer were blown out of proportion.
