[Saba Sports News] Ja Morant’s return to the court was brief, as the Memphis Grizzlies have announced that he will miss the remainder of the season due to a shoulder injury. Morant experienced a subluxation in his right shoulder during a training session on Saturday. Subsequent MRI results showed a torn labrum, necessitating season-ending surgery to ensure his readiness for the next season.
Since coming back from a 25-game suspension at the start of the season, Morant had participated in only 9 games for Memphis. During these games, he averaged 25.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 8.1 assists. The Grizzlies recorded a 6-3 win-loss record in the games Morant played, showing a notable improvement in their performance.
However, with an overall season record of 13-23 and being 10 games under .500, the team has likely decided that prioritizing Morant’s recovery for next season is more beneficial.
The combination of injuries and suspensions has unfortunately turned this season into a setback for both Morant and the Grizzlies.
