[Saba Sports News] About five minutes into the second half at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Durant drove to the basket and drew a foul on Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr. But as he planted to make his move, Durant stepped on Smith’s foot and rolled his left ankle badly.
The 15-time All-Star was unable to take his free throws and headed straight to the locker room. Rookie Oso Ighodaro checked in to shoot in his place.
Durant finished with 11 points and seven rebounds, along with a technical foul from an earlier run-in with Dillon Brooks.
The Suns were already down 92-57 at the time of his injury and never recovered. Houston rolled to a 148-109 win.
The loss drops Phoenix to 35-40, leaving them 1.5 games behind the final play-in spot in the West with just seven games left in the regular season.
