[Saba Sports News] Recently, Inter’s chairman, Giuseppe Marotta, revealed in a media interview that the team earned €100 million from playing 10 matches in the Champions League, more than what they would earn from winning the Serie A title. Marotta stated: “So far, we have played 10 matches in the Champions League and earned about €100 million. In contrast, if we were to win the Serie A, we could only earn €95 million, and we would have to play 38 matches. We must find a new balance, avoiding the significant disparities of a few years ago. Currently, this income gap is primarily related to television broadcast fees and secondarily to matchday stadium revenue. In this regard, we are €60 to €70 million less than other European competitors.” Inter is still competing on three competitions, with the addition of the FIFA Club World Cup in June, where two Italian teams will also participate. Marotta continued, stating that this demonstrates a fact: the change in club ownership has not made previously successful teams feel uneasy, both on and off the field. We are still on a positive path to victory, which is a source of pride. Inter will try to face everything in the best way possible, but the team has already achieved its first goal; participating in this level of competition brings us peace of mind.
