[Saba Sports News] The Golden State Warriors star exploded for 52 points in a 134-125 win over the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn., adding 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 5 steals in one of his most dominant performances of the season.
But things got testy in the final seconds.
With the game nearly sealed and the Warriors up 130-125, Memphis attempted to trap Curry along the sideline. Golden State called a timeout to avoid a turnover.
Before heading to the bench, Curry casually tried a practice shot—only for Desmond Bane to slap the ball out of his hands. Curry took exception, and tensions escalated when Grizzlies forward Santi Aldama appeared to shove Curry out of the way.
The game was closer than the final score suggested. Memphis held a 120-116 lead with just over three minutes remaining, but clutch shooting from Curry and key free throws helped Golden State close it out.
The win had major implications, moving the Warriors a half-game ahead of Memphis for the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
Curry’s outburst may have stolen the show—but that late-game scuffle reminded everyone there’s still plenty of fire between these two teams.
