[Saba Sports News] LeBron James turned back the clock on Friday night, throwing down an alley-oop from Austin Reaves in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 124–108 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
But despite the highlight, James had a few hilarious regrets about the play afterward.
With just under four minutes left in the fourth quarter, Reaves hit James with a lob following a behind-the-back move after a Pelicans turnover. The crowd loved it—but no one enjoyed the moment more than the two players involved.
During Reaves’ postgame media session, James couldn’t resist crashing the party to poke fun at himself.
After Reaves joked about tossing a lob to “a 40-year-old,” James chimed in from off-camera:
“That dumba– lob set me back three days!”
Reaves laughed and responded with some praise of his own:
“I told him on the bench, I wish I had played with him about ten years ago, because I would’ve thrown the craziest lobs.”
While LeBron may not have quite the same bounce at 40, he still finished the dunk effortlessly—even with a sore thumb from earlier in the game.
James finished the night with 27 points and eight assists, while Reaves led the Lakers with 30 points. When Reaves is outscoring LeBron and they’re having this much fun, the Lakers are hard to stop.
