[Saba Sports News] Thailand’s badminton women’s
singles player, Ratchanok Intanon, has announced her comeback through social
media. She revealed that she will be participating in the Malaysian Open, which
has generated a lot of excitement among fans and the media. Intanon has been
out of action for the past four months due to injury, and her return is highly
anticipated. Intanon, currently ranked 13th in the world, had to retire from
the entire season following an ankle ligament tear at the Super 500 Hong Kong
Open in September of the previous year. She is a formidable player, having
previously won the Malaysian Open women’s singles championship in 2016 and
2022. Her comeback adds further interest and excitement to the women’s singles
badminton scene. The 2024 Malaysia Badminton Open, the 67th edition of the
tournament, is part of the 2024 Badminton World Tour. It is classified as a
second-level event (Super 1000) with a total prize money of US$1.3 million.
