[Saba Sports News] In the previous qualifying round of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Lance Stroll of the Aston Martin team unfortunately failed to qualify, marking his 75th time being eliminated during Q1, setting an awkward record in F1 history for the most eliminations in Q1. Regarding this embarrassing record, Stroll stated it is related to car performance, suggesting that if McLaren drivers were placed in the Sauber cars for ten years, they would also have the most eliminations in Q1. The author believes that although car performance is important, a driver’s driving skills and experience cannot be overlooked. Stroll joined the F1 circuit in 2017 and has rich racing experience, including winning third place in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in 2017 and ranking third in qualifying in Hungary 2020. However, his performance in qualifying may not be stable, possibly failing to fully utilize the car’s potential on certain tracks or making mistakes at critical moments, leading to multiple eliminations in Q1.
