[Saba Sports News] Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. will not be suspended for Game 5 of the team’s first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers, a league spokesperson confirmed to Law Murray of *The Athletic* on Tuesday.
The decision follows a tense Game 4 that featured six technical fouls after a heated altercation between the teams. Although Porter left the bench and briefly stepped onto the court — a move that typically carries a risk of suspension under NBA rules — the league decided against further punishment after review.
Porter remains listed as probable for Game 5 due to a left shoulder sprain he’s been managing since Game 2. Despite the injury, he played a key role in Denver’s 112-97 Game 4 win, contributing 17 points, four rebounds, and two assists while shooting an efficient 6-for-11 from the field and 4-for-7 from three-point range in 42 minutes.
Through four games against the Clippers, Porter is averaging 10.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and one assist, shooting 42.9% from the field and 42.1% from deep. His size and shooting ability have been vital for the Nuggets, especially against a Clippers defense known for its perimeter strength.
With the series tied 2-2, Denver will aim to take control in a crucial Game 5 at Ball Arena on Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 10:00 p.m. ET on TNT. If the Nuggets can protect home court, they’ll head to Los Angeles for Game 6 at the Intuit Dome with a chance to close out the series.
Porter’s availability provides a much-needed boost to Denver’s rotation as both teams battle for momentum in a tightly contested Western Conference matchup.
