[Saba Sports News] According to Singapore media reports by “Lianhe Zaobao,” on May 4, Singapore men’s doubles athlete Loh Kean Hean announced his retirement, stating that he will focus on his badminton academy in the future, hoping to promote the sport while also enhancing the fundamental skills of local young players. It is reported that Loh Kean Hean is the older brother of world champion Loh Kean Yew, both of whom are members of the Singapore National Badminton Team. Loh Kean Hean was born in Penang, Malaysia on March 12, 1995. He began playing badminton at about four years old and moved to a training academy at age 10. In 2009, along with his younger brother Loh Kean Yew, they transferred from Malaysia to Singapore and officially joined the Singapore national team at the age of 18 in 2013. In August 2015, Loh Kean Hean paired up with Terry Hee Yong Kai and won the men’s doubles title at the Singapore International Series for the first time on an international stage. Before their partnership ended, they reached a world ranking of 22nd and achieved their best result of 16th place at the World Championships. They also won medals at events such as the Southeast Asian Games, the Asian Team Championships, and the Commonwealth Games.
