[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Ruben Amorim is likely to revive the club’s suit tradition in his first final as manager of Manchester United. Manchester United will face Tottenham Hotspur in an English derby in the Europa League final, with the winner securing qualification for next season’s Champions League. Amorin is eager to establish his tenure at Old Trafford with his first trophy and might lead Manchester United back to its former suit culture. The suit culture is a traditional custom established by Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, who always required the team to wear formal attire for away matches, even while boarding planes. However, in the 2021 Europa League final, Manchester United wore formal attire, but Eric ten Hag’s team chose sportswear before the 2023 League Cup final. It is reported that Ten Hag believed the formal process would take an extra ten minutes due to changing into training gear before the pitch, disrupting the schedule. However, in the FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley, Manchester United still dressed players in suits, returning to sportswear only for the Community Shield in August. Despite Amorin’s preference for casual attire in daily life, he and the stars of Manchester United appeared in well-tailored suits at the funeral of the late receptionist Kath Phipps, suggesting respect for the club’s traditions.
